Tri-Shutter Card ...

Hi all, I had reason to create an svg for a Tri-Shutter Card over the weekend so thought I'd share it with you all.

The SVG  has 3 layers within it, so when you import it into your program, make sure you separate them into the 3 layers, one is cutting, one is the score lines for folding, the other layer is the individual pieces for cutting the patterned papers to pop into the spaces.

Okay so here is the SVG FILE for the Tri-Shutter Card, enjoy :)

Label Popup Card

After quite a lot of mucking about with shapes this morning and wasting loads of cardstock (back to the store for me this week)  I have come up with this sweet little pop-up card.

I HEART U - Pop Up Card with Tutorial

Hi all, in answer to a request for help in making a card like this suitable for our cutting machines to tackle, I played around with different things and managed to get a working svg for the design. (My photo is not so perfect as I rushed and tore part of it lol and it isn't even on the backing straight) sorry!!!  But yes, if you take the time to do it properly, it will be fine :)

A couple of ladies have asked....how on earth do you get it to cut around the letters like that for popping them out, it's just a matter of a bit of node editing, and drawing in some extra cutting lines, but anyhooo, all the screenshots and info on how I made it are in the Tutorial which you can download in PDF.

This is what the finished cutting file looks like (3 layers) base card, cutting layer, scoring layer, cut your score layer with minimal pressure and a bit slower perhaps on some machines to avoid tearing the cardstock.

You can download the SVG HERE and the TUTORIAL HERE.

6x6 Swing Card with Square Centre

Hi all, decided to have a play around with this file last night, a lot of people have been looking for a cutting file to do the basic square version of these awesome swing cards, so decided to spend some time and actually do some measurements (yup me do measurements lol lol)  Anyhooo, this when folded up will be a 6x6 inch card (still sounds kinda big to me but hey I'm not a cardmaker) so feel free to resize it obviously to whatever size it suits your purposes.

Included in the download is a JPEG of finished item, SVG, SCUT2, SCUT3 and MTC.  Enjoy the file, would love to see any of your amazing creations from you card loving ladies that use these files.

If you are wondering about any of the papers in this project....I have used Echo Park, This & That Graceful Collection.  (Digital Versions available from Jessica Sprague)

Vintage Cards totally Rock!!!

Well I think I must say I have found a whole new love!!! I hate card making....don't get me wrong now....I totally love the whole idea of making cards, but man I really suck at it most days, so today whilst browsing thru some online catalogues I got my very first glimpse ever of a "vintage style" card, couldn't see too much of the details but something happened, made my lil ole heart go hot diggity dog, I sooooo have to jump on into some of that! So out came the cardstock, the distress ink omg I love that stuff hehe and some vintage old book that I bought for a song last week and voila....We have one lovely card that I actually quite adore!!!

Now, this lil sweetie is going on a trip.... in a hot stuffy envelope.... any day now.... I wonder where it is going to go to????? sorry can't say...it's a secret!! lol Have a great day/evening!

xo Kris :)

My very first Tilda Creation :)

Well I finally received my very first gorgeous Magnolia stamps this week, so thought I better have a little play and see what I could manage to construct.

Then my mum reminded me this afternoon that it is my eldest sister's birthday in 2 days (I'm so incredibly bad with remembering dates - large families lol) So I did this little card up for my sis, hahaha she'll be my first handmade card victim hmmm I mean recipient lol.

Anyway, here's a pic of it. Not too shabby a starting point, plenty of room here for improvement that's for sure lol.

I've used Magnolia Tilda Stamp, Watercolour Pencils, Dove Blender Pen, Embossing Powder, Cricut Diecuts, Versa Inks, Kindyglitz, H2O's, Daisy Trim and Kaiser Rhinestones

Thanks for looking, have a great day xo Kris

Happy 8th Birthday to my gorgeous Girl..... Keely Allyson :)

Well today is the 8th Birthday of one of my sweet little girls.... Miss Keely Allyson! We've had a great day so far, Keely has enjoyed opening up her pressies, we bought her a new Playstation Game, Tamagotchi (yet another) & a new pair of spunky black long pants omg she loves them! Oh and how could I possibly forget??? I made her a gorgeous card for the occasion, yes folks, that's right, I actually finally made a card that was able to be given lmao, now that's a first eh!

Her Nan & Grandpa are away exploring this beautiful Country of ours again, currently in Northern Territory having a ball, but they snuck a little surprise into the house for Keely before they left a few weeks ago. Can't believe the lil toffee nose didn't spot it hiding away in my closet lol (this kid is a great snoop...usually) So what's in the enormous box? A lovely new pair of trackie pants and matching hoody top Oh Gosh, this girl is over the moon with excitement today lol.

So....I let her stay home today and enjoy her goodies cos quite frankly, who wants to go to school and leave all their new treasures behind? We had some pizza, then Mummy had to get the dreaded Mixmaster out of hiding and whip up a quick treat for tonight with the family. We had a little bit of help from Betty Crocker again lol lol lol. So we are having a delightful Chocolate Swirl cake covered in a whole lotta heavenly chocolate frosting with oodles of smarties on top and some gorgeous little candy fairies that I managed to find recently on one of my shopping trips.

So here is a little collage of Keely's day so far.....

I had a lesson on making one of these cards yesterday out at Discover Scrapbooking, thoroughly loved this one, so came home and whipped up a pink one with cupcakes for Miss Keely's birthday last night, I used Pink CS, DCWV Sweets Paper Range, Ribbon, various stamps, Versa Inks. She loved it!!! yay

Card making .... Attempt #4

Wow, what can I say about cardmaking? Hmmm I think it is actually more difficult to create a "card" than it is to create an entire layout or an entire album even lol.

I must say though, I was inspired by Vol 13 No.12 of the Aussie Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft mag, which I must say I never buy, but it arrived as a bonus mag with a recent Scrappy Mag (generous souls) so anyway... I was inspired by this gorgeous little card in there, actually several of them in there with ladybugs on them.....ah I just ADORE Ladybugs so I quickly sorted out an .svg pattern for the LADYBUG which I then cut with the cricut (of course) and made a quick lil wire antennae for her "must say she's looking pretty cute" lol and I also created and cut an .svg pattern for the DIECUT PAPER and a lovely new friend gave me a file for the lacy border in the background (thanks Christine) much appreciated **see I did use it** lol

Anyway, that's probably quite enough blithering on for one day, long story short, I created a card for my best friends' Mummy for her 80th Birthday tomorrow and I am stoked at how it turned out.
